Ripples on the water
as refreshing rain pours down,
goldcrests singing in the trees
- such a beautiful sound!
What am I doing here?
the question I have today...
to find real peace, to connect with God,
to simply be just "me".
Here I am in the midst of all
the beautiful countryside,
wait - a kingfisher zooms
at speed across the Avon before my eyes!
Was that the connection with God I sought,
for it filled my heart with joy!
No stress, or pain can be felt right now
as the Lord has taken them away...
Here I now sit in a garden hut
alone and looking out....
at a cottage garden with plenty of bees
buzzing all around.
It's peaceful here and no words are needed
to simply rest and be,
to wait, to listen and to gaze upon the
glory all around me.
When It's time to return back home,
I'll hold on to the love I've found,
for in nature today...I have found my God
in the simple beauty abound.

Lovely to hear that the question - combined with the place - was fruitful. I looked back over my own writings in preparing for Saturday. It's amazing how words years ago brought me right back to a specific time and place
